This site introduces a program to improve the access and quality of  services to persons with Parkinson's Disease (PWP) and their families and speed the diffusion of improved treatments to the population by:
 
1) funding and conducting studies to identify issues and problems for Parkinson's care,
2) designing and implementing programs and advocacy positions to address the issues.


Action research and program development activities address:

 
• Patterns of diagnosis and treatment in populations and the epidemiology of Parkinson's disease,
• Organization and financing of care: comprehensive care systems and disease management approaches,
• Access and barriers to quality health care,
• Testing and regulatory approval of new treatments,
• Communication and diffusion of information/ discoveries/ innovations in PD prevention and treatment


The  audience for this information includes:

• Individuals and families affected by PD,
• Health care providers that serve PD populations,
• Managers of health plans, insurance companies, and other third party payers,
• Administrators of Medicare, Medicaid and other government health programs,
• Policy makers for health services at all levels.

• Program Overview -- Goals, plans, activities, collaborative resources, lead staff, current funding sources and information about contributions to the QuADPaC Program.
• Research Agenda -- Plans and progress on our agenda which is aimed at improvement in quality and access to health care services and development of the elements of comprehensive disease management programs for PD.
• Program Methods -- Information and designs and facilitation of decision-making processes to develop more effective care for patients and families.
