Access to Specialty Physician Services-- Responses from PDF Access Survey-- 86% - 90% reported that visits to physicians were covered by insurance or Medicare-Medicaid. 35% reported use of services of a Movement Disorder Specialist (MDS) during the past year. Of those who did not use MDS, 90% used the services of a general neurologist (GN). 6% of respondents received care only from a primary care physician (PCP). For these respondents physician care covered and used, although few see MDS. Is there a difference between the care of a neurologist and a MDS?
